Dear children
96 'THE INEVITABLE PARTING ''
The war was over. No Kauravas are left to contest. The Pandavas took control of the governance of the kingdom. Yudhishtra took charge as the king and was ably supported by his brothers. All were happy. People rejoiced and declared that Justice won. Dharma won. Love won and the Right one. It was not the battle between Kauravas and Pandavas. In fact it was a fierce combat between Adharma and Dharma and naturally the Dharma met with success. Hasthinapur was echoing with Vedha chanting. In every street people were participating in the Annadhana daily Every one's face was beaming with happiness, satisfaction and joy. Most of the remaining kings and guests from other areas who participated in the war in support of the Pandavas were proud that their efforts had paid good reward and were getting ready to return back to their places.
Hasthinapur palace was as ever busy in giving gifts to those who were taking leave of them and many were unwilling to part with the Pandavas because of their love for each other. Finally they have to leave any way to their respective places. Is n't it?
Pandavas embraced them and shed tears of gratitude. They were unable to express their gratitude for the support they were given by their well wishers. Most of the guests has thus parted with them and only a few remained and were leaving .
Krishna was getting ready to leave for Dwarka. Pandavas were not at all willing to part with him. But he had to go to Dwarka as his people were awaiting him. Krishna took leave of every one and visited the queens' quarters where he met Kunthi, Draupathi and others.
''Aunty, I take leave of you'' said Krishna to the mother of the Pandavas, Kunthi Devi.
''Where are you going?''
“Where else, to my place only''
''Krishna are you sure, you want to leave us all?''
“Aunty, what do you mean? I have to return to Dwarka.''
“What for and why”
“'Aunty, I have a duty to all in my kingdom, is n't it?”
“Krishna.... !!! The voice of Kunthi reflected her emotion. It emanated from the deep recesses of her heart. She staggered and fell on the floor. Her eyes were filled with tears. Krishna lifted her up and consoled her. He asked
“Aunty why do you cry when everyone I find here is extremely happy? Your sons are now the unconquerable emperors in the three worlds. You are the proud Raj Matha of Hasthinapur empire, why do you feel sad and what is the need for your crying ?''
“Krishna, to the entire kingdom and outer world, all that you say may apply making them happy. For me, it is unbearable and a big loss, even to think that you are leaving us. It shatters me personally.''
“Aunty what you say is quite strange ''
“Krishna, it is certainly unbearable for me. My children and I were so far till this moment, were competely under your care and protection. It brought immense happiness and joy to us. How many testing situations, how many difficulties, how many oppositions, how many unbearable circumstances befell us and all these we faced because you were with us and saved us more than a mother protecting her children. When I recall all these, I am not at all willing to part with you. Krishna, when all these tragedies and disasters came to us I was only thinking of you all the time and you alone were you not the only one to bail us out of these difficulties?”
Krishna laughed. ''Aunty you are talking something imagining a lot. I feel that only out of your love and affection for me you talk all these?
“Krishna, is it absolutely necessary that you have to leave for Dwarka?”
“what is the doubt in it, aunty?”.
'' Krishna, will you grant me a wish ?'
“Oh my, Aunty, do you still have any wish to be granted?
''Yes, Krishna, I beseech you to make this Kunthi aunty, to be always in suffering as before, will you?''
''Why this peculiar wish, aunty”
“I am used to be only in suffering all these years and lived only thinking of you and you were there with me in those times'. I dont want to be any different Krishna''
''Krishna smiled and patted the aunty affectionately and embraced and left her.
Dear children, Krishna is always with us, and we think more of him only when we are in difficulties and like Kunthi let us develop the practicve of thinking of him in our happy times also.
