Oh Lord Sriman Narayana, you are the sole savior. You dispel our fears. Yogis meditate upon you always. Several demons are causing unbearable atrocities on the earth. Please relieve me of this unbearable burden and save the world.
Charanam - 1

karunaa rasa varunaalaya kari raja krupaalo
adhunaa khalu vidhinaa mayi sudhiyaa surabharitham
madhusudhana madhusudhana hara maamaka duritham
Oh Madhusudhana, I seek your shelter. You are benevolent to the destitute. You are the ocean of kindness and showered mercy on the Elephant King Gajendra, who was in deep distress. The atrocities of the demons have become intolerable. Madhusudhana, the Slayer of Madhu, absolve me from the troubles.
Charanam - 2

surabhusura bhayavaaraka dharaanee dhara krupaya
twarayaa hara bharameesvara suravarya madeeyam
madhusudhana madhusudhana hara maamaka duritham
Oh Madhusudhana, you are beautiful with dancing bells on your feet and bracelets on your wrists. You assuage the fear of learned brahmanas and devatas. You dispel all the evils on the earth. Madhusudhana, the Slayer of Madhu, absolve me from the troubles.
Charanam - 3

ani maadhi suguna bhushana mani mantapa sadana
vinatha suta ghana vaahana muni maanasa bhavana
madhusudhana madhusudhana hara maamaka duritham
Oh Madhusudhana, your earrings which are studded with gems shine brilliantly, you recline on the serpent adisesha. You are embellished with many virtues and you flourish both in micro and macro forms. The one who dwells inside the mantapa made of jewels, whose vehicle is Garuda, the son of Vinatha. The one who lives in the minds of sages. Madhusudhana, the Slayer of Madhu, absolve me from the troubles.
Charanam - 4

narakantaka narapaalaka paripaalitha jaladhe
harisevaka siva naaraayana teertha paraathman
madhusudhana madhusudhana hara maamaka duritham
O Madhusudhana, you cause fear to the enemies, the one who is Balarama’s brother. You are the ocean of absolute happiness. Who destroyed the demon Narakaasura and protected all. You ruled the earth and the ocean. Who is the Paramaathman. Narayana theertha is the devoted servant of Sri Hari. Madhusudhana, the Slayer of Madhu, absolve me from the troubles.

Narayana Teertha (1675 - 1745)
Sri Narayana Teertha, ascetic and scholar, was born in Andhra Desa. Prior to his ascetic vow (Sanyasam), his name was Tallavajjhala Govinda Sastry. Attaining mastery over all the six Sastras, he went to Varanasi, the seat of sages and learned men, to propagate his spiritual knowledge and philosophy. After some years he settled down at Varahur on the banks of the Kaveri in Tamil Nadu. On the way down to south, he visited several holy places and sang the glory of the deities graced in different temples. As he was an ardent devotee of Sree Krishna,he encapsulated his spontaneous outpourings in " Tarangas' . Sree Krishna Leela Tarangini, his magnum opus is an unparalleled musical treatise consisting many Slokas and Krutis in 12 chapters known asTarangas. These compositions, famous for lyrical richness and beauty of rhythm, evoke the nine 'Rasas' and form an integral part of Indian classical dance. The Tarangas depict the life and childhood pranks (leelas) of Sree Krishna and culminate in the auspicious wedding "Rukmini Kalyanam". Leela Suka's "Sree Krishna Karnamrutham", Jayadeva's "Geeta Govindam" and Narayana Teertha's "Sree Krishna Leela Tarangini" constitute the precious triumvirate that elevate the devout to a world of spiritual ecstasy.
