Arunachala Naadham – composed by Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar
Ragam – Saaranga
Pallavi
Arunaachala Naadham Smarami Anisam
Apeeta Kuchaamba Sametham
Meaning
I always meditate upon the Lord of Arunachala who is majestic with his shining consort Apeetakuchaamba (Unnamulaiyammai in tamil)
Anupallavi
Smaranaath Kaivalya Prada Charana-Aravindam
Taruna-Aditya Koti Samkaasa Chida-Anandam
Karunaa Rasaadi Kandham Saranaagata Sura-Brundam
Meaning
Just meditating on his lotus feet, the devotees are liberated
He shines with the effulgence of a million bright suns and is the embodiment of supreme bliss
He is the root of mercy surrounded by devas who were surrendered unto him
Charanam
Aprakruta Tejomaya Lingam Atyadbhuta Kara Dhruta Saarangam
Aprameyam Aparnaabja Bhrungam Aarudottunga Vrusha Turangam
Viprottama Viseshantarangam Veera Guru Guha Tara Prasangam
Swapradeepa Mouli Vidhruta Gangam
Swaprakaasa Jita Somaagni Patangam
The lingam which does not have its connection with prakruti or nature, shines with divine effulgence. He weilds a deer on his powerful hand. He is like a hovering bee near Aparna who is beautiful like a lotus. He mounts on the sacred bull. He is the superior conscience of the learned. Very dear to the valiant Guruguha (Shanmukha). His matted locks shines with everflowing Ganga. I mediate on the lord Arunachaleshwara whose self effulgence is brighter than that of the Sun, Moon and the Agni.
