Would be grateful if some one can clarify.

Reply from Sri P.R. Kannan <prkannanvashi@yahoo.com>
Two Avatara days are celebrated for Hanuman. It is on Margasirsha Amavasya in the South and Chitra Pournami in the North. One refers to the birth of Hanuman from his mother Anjana's womb; the other is the day when he was given a second birth after he lost his life-force as a child, struck by the thunderbolt of Indra. The second birth was blessed by Brahma as Vayu had ceased to operate, angry at Hanuman's loss of life-force.

The short explanation of Sri P.R.Kannan is convincing. But the right birth day would be the day when ANJANA DEVI delivered the child.
