Saawara Re Mhaari Preet Nibhajo Ji
He Chho Mhaaro Gunaro Saagar Avagunama Bisrajo Ji
Lok Na Sijaya Manana Patija Mukhada Sabdh Sunajo Ji
Dasi Thari Janam Janam Ri Mhare Aangan Aajo Ji
Meera Re Prabhu Giridhar Naagar Bedaa Paar Lagaajo Ji
Meaning
Translation (roughly)
Oh my beloved, You must reciprocate my love towards to you. You are the ocean of Gunas (that is boundless or Gunaatheetha. So you must forget (forgive?) my avaguna or meanness. The worldly people do not heed to what my mind says, Oh Lord please listen to this crestfallen’s (hapless lady) word’s kindly. I, Meera, am your slave (one who has taken your refuge) since so many janmas, please place thy feet in my house (literary meaning Portico) Oh lord ‘Giridhar’) (also) please help me (as a boatman) to cross this ocean of births and deaths.
