Dear Children
91 ''IS IT TRUE YUDHISHTRA? ''
Misfortunes does not come singly. One after the other it torments. All our efforts are there of course to safe guard us and to keep away from the path of difficulty and yet beyond all these, there is some supreme power which is required to protect us. It is easily attained with sincere and simple prayer. I give you some points to think over about the efficacy of prayer :
Prayer helps to lowering and reducing our blood pressure. Anger disappears. Repeated uttering of God’s names, hatever name we like, over the years, countless times -- brings about positive effects in us .
Prayer is the chain linking the Heaven and Earth.
Prayer is talking to God, while Meditation is listening to Him.
Prayer needs no specific way, form or words or any system because God understands the devotee as a mother understands her baby and its needs.
Prayer helps with good digestion, peaceful sleep, gives a smiling face, sweet loving tone to words.
Prayer should be with a heart without words and not just words without a heart.
Prayer is simple, sincere pouring out of heart to the Soul (God)
Prayer is an appeal to God for a sound mind in a sound body.
Prayer helps to believe in God through belief in us.
Prayer is a constant practice for concentration.
Prayer confirms the faith that He is you and you are Him
It is our own will that answers all in our prayer
Prayer enables realise God even in this life and to know God is to become God.
Prayer teaches if we know how to obey we will know how to command.
Prayer makes us understand that God and Devil are the same river with water flowing opposite directions.
Prayer puts our ears to God and hands to work.
Prayer is the key that opens the door in the morning and the latch that closes the door at night.
While praying closing the eyes, what we see within is more colourful than the world outside.
Prayer educates that the whole of Nature is for Soul, not the Soul for nature.
Prayer makes us inseparable with God like the flower and its fragrance.
A silent prayer is a speech in volumes, a conversation between a child and its parent.
Prayer only brings orderliness, peace and repose in our daily acts.
A heartfelt prayer is not a recital with lips. It is an yearning which expresses itself in every word, every act and in every thought.
Let us go back to our story
Krishna told Arjuna that after Bheeshma the greatest force to combat with is Dhronacharya, who is the supreme commander. ''
Remember he is your teacher and knows more than you in selecting the suitable arrows and attacking you more emphatically.'' Yudhishtra, today is going to be a crucial day for you and your forces. Beware.
"Krishna, I am surprised, you, of all, is not very optimistic today. said Yudhishtra.
''Yudhistra, ever since Dhronacharya took the command of the Kaurava forces at the fall of Bhishma, he has been turning you all upside down. By this evening if Dhronacharya is not stopped, that will be disastrous for you, it is certain. i can only give you my warning. Dhronacharya, today may use his Brahmasthram against you all, which will swallow all of you. Arjuna what is your reaction to this?
........
''Arjuna, your silence is not understood''
“Krishna, what can I do at best, except trying what all Dhronacharya taught me against him.''
''That is no good. He knows how to retaliate and counter your attack. There need to be done something more than this fight with Dhrona. Let me try this with you all"''
Krishna looked at all the Pandavas and after a moment he turned to Bheema, '' Bheemasena, you are the right man and my best choice. I am going to entrust you with a very responsible job today. All that you have to do is to kill an elephant in Kaurava forces. Then I will tell you the next action due.''
When the day's war commenced, Dhronacharya was attacking the Pandavas in lightning speed. He was easily breaking the Vyuhas set by Arjuna, and was advancing into the Pandava forces and if at this rate he fought, the Pandavas were sure to be reduced to nil.
When the war was thus progressiong, Bheema did what Krishna asked him to do. He killed a very big elephant of Kauravas army and told Krishna. The entire Pandava forces rejoiced at this and shouted ''Aswathama had been killed by Bheema''. The sudden jubilation in Pandava forces made Dhrona halt for a moment. He too heard their shouting "Aswaththama killed''
Dhronacharya was shocked for a while. Aswaththama was his only pet son.He had been well trained in martial arts and especially in archery. He was a great warrior and how can he be killed when the entire Kaurava forces were under his protection and he was advancing in the war. He could hardly believe what he heard and there was no way he could ascertain the truth of this. He was far ahead of the Kaurava army and had no access to where Aswathama was really fighting in the war and who killed him. He immediately decided to ask Yudhishtra because he knew Dharma would not mislead him or give false information.
''He stopped the fighting and asked Yudhishtra '' Dharmaputhra, you tell me whether my son Aswaththama had been killed?''
Yudhishtra replied exactly as he has been tutored by Krishna
''Yes, Aswaththama, was killed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not the man, but the elephant''
Dhronacharya heard distinctly only the first half of the confirmation. He could not hear ....not the man but the elephant'' in the din and noise created by conches, drums and shoutings of Pandava forces all in unison.
The very word ''Aswaththama was killed'' was enough to shatter him to pieces. In his heart and mind, suddenly there arose a vacuum. He was lost in sorrow and shock. He became stand still sitting on the chariot like a stone.' He closed his eyes for a moment thinking of his son now lost.
''Dhrishtadhyumna, the time you waited for all these years, has come now. Kill Dhronacharya without fail.''. Arjuna's arrows pierced Dhrona and Dhrishtadhyumna killed Dhrona fulfilling his vow. The great Dhronacharya fell dead from his chariot.
The greatest turning point of the Kurukshethra war was the death of Dhronacharya also, which gave a great hope for the Pandavas to win the war.
