Dear Children
54 " RAM NAAM "
What you are going to read today, will certainly be a story you have never heard before, but in case you knew this already, then it would be better for you to tell me the stories from now on to make me hear and enjoy!
Some years have rolled by, since Krishna and Balaram took over the control of the kingom of Dwarka and they have orgnised the everything. Being the elder of the two, Balaraman was made the Supreme Head while Krishna played the role of the second in command..
But the citizens always tried to reach and meet Krishna for consultations, settlement of their problems and satisfaction of their wants and grievances etc.. Balarama was observing this and wondering how Krishna attracted everyone. He expected all the citizens to recognised him first, and thought that he should be the one to be approached for all solutions as the king.
One day he revealed his feeldings to Krishna also. Krishna was always clever and was one step ahead. He knew what was in the mind of Balarama.
“Krishna, I have been thinking for a while. You see, a good number of citizens daily throng at the palace seeking your attention to solve ever so many problems connected with their day to day lives. This makes me miss you for very important matters such as visiting the other kingdoms, meeting the princes and talk with them for strengthening our defence, joint attacks on enemies, improving the living conditions of the towns in our kingdom, revitalizing our securities, health of the army etc., So I feel we should announce that from tomorrow no one should disturb you for their grievances and problems. They can seek redress at our courts through officials and or through me leaving you free to attend to the major issues.
“Balaram, what a strange coincidence. I was thinking of telling you exactly the same thing.”
Krishnan simultaneously was thinking of Garuda also. He observed that Garudan had developed a tendency to be snobbish and show disrespect to others because he thought he is highly connected with Krishna, and that Krishna’s successes in all the battles were only due to Garudan’s might and strength.
Krishna therefore was waiting for an early opportunity to teach a lesson to Garudan.
A month later or so, the sage Naradha came to Dwarka and entered the palace. Garuda was there in command of the security to the palace. He did not permit the sage to enter and asked him to wait for long. But Krishna happened to be at the entrance and the moment he found Naradha was waiting he personally took him in.
Krishna asked “Naradha, can you help me?”
“Prabhu, it is my privilege to be of some help to you. Order me”
“Go immediately to Kadhalivan, where our old friend Hanuman will be meditating. Go and bring him here at once.”
Naradha reached Kadhalivan and stood before the meditating Hanuman, who was repeattedly chanting “Ram Ram” with his eyes closed in dhyanam. Naradha waited until Hanuman opened his eyes and saw him.
“Oh Sage Naradha, how are you? What brought you here?”
“Jai Hanuman, I have come here to take you to Dwarka?"
"Dwarka? What is it and where is it?"
“ It is the kingdom of Krishna ?
"Krishna?" Who is he?"
“Don’t you know, it is he your Rama in this Yuga reborn as Krishna”
Hanuman showed least interest in Krishna, To him only Rama is the name which will have magic effect on him. He again closed his eyes and began meditating “Ram Ram” He cannot accept Ram being anyone else!"
Naradha went back to Dwarka.
“Where is Hanuman?’ asked Krishna and learnt what happened at Kadhalivan. He laughed and sent back Naradha to Hanuman asking him to tell Hanuman “Rama calls you immediately”
Naradha shuttled back to Kadhalivan and repeated what Krishna told him and Hanuman was very happy when he heard the name Ram and his lord's instruction. He started with Naradha to Dwarka. During their journey Hanuman never talked to Naradha. He was only folding his hands chanting “Ram Ram”. Naradha left him in the Dwarka palace gardens and went.
Hanuman is one person whose thoughts were centred around Rama and the incidents relating to the period Rama lived. So when he opened his eyes and found himself in a garden, he imagined it to be the Demon King Ravana’s palace gardens in Srilanka and he imagined Seetha to be imprisoned somewhere in the garden. He became very angry and commenced destroying the newly made beautiful garden of Krishna and Balaram.
Garudan, the Commander of the security of the palace learnt that some huge monkey had entered the garden and was destroying it. So he came with his forces and attacked Hanuman. In no time Hanuman hit them all with his powerfull tail and injured them all very badly including Garudan. Balaraman rushed to help Garudan and he too failed in his efforts to stop Hanuman. Balaraman was thrown out.
At that time the miracle happened.
“ANJANEYAA....” the familiar voice was heard by Hanuman, who suddenly stopped still and looked here and there to find where the enchanting voice came from. He saw before him Rama and Seetha. To his eyes alone, Krishna and Rukmini appeared as Rama and Seetha. Hanuman fell at the feet of Krishna, his grateful tears drenching the feet of both Krishna and Rukmini.
Krishna raised him up and embraced him.
Everyone there including Garudan and Balaram, shouted in union “Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna” as they realized the power and greatness of Krishna.
Dear Children, you also join them and chant “Hare Ram Hare Krishna” a few times atleast daily.
