Namaskaram
We are glad to share yet another kriti of Sri Purandara Dasa.
In this song Sri Purandara stresses the importance of Guru. He says :
Unless one becomes the slave of his Guru, there is no chance of deliverance. Reading of various shastras leads to wasted devotion.
What if one has read six shastras and eighteen puranas without associating with noble persons thinking oneself great
What if a garland is worn around the neck, what if the prayer beads are turned in the fingers, and what if one repeatedly rolls in the ash and goes about like a mad man?
What if pleasure of woman is given up, what if all pleasurable things to the body are stopped, till one unites with Sri Purndara Vittala, the father of Manmatha.
Let us hear this divine song sung by Smt M.S. Subbulakshmi Amma.
Have a divine Sunday and a great week ahead.
